Young Alumni Advisory Board

The Northeastern University Young Alumni Advisory Board (YAAB) works to empower graduates of the past 10 years and encourage their continued involvement and support of the university through programs, events, and communications. Members provide advice to Alumni Relations on matters of concern to young alumni. YAAB members are ambassadors for the university through their leadership and by serving Chief Executive Connectors (CEC) at alumni events.

NU Black Alums Dinner

As my first event on behalf of the Northeastern Young Alumni Advisory Board (YAAB), I had the pleasure of hosting a Black Alumni dinner in NYC! The idea was to re-engage with the Northeastern University community. Alumni had nothing to prepare, they simply pulled up a chair to make valuable connections and turn strangers into friends.

This kicked off our plan to implement a dinner series in major cities across the world to strengthen and build our alumni network! Follow @NUBlackAlums on Instagram to keep up with what alumni of the African diaspora are working on.

Rebelle Agency Volunteer CultureCon

Rebelle Agency is a communications and public relations firm that fuses the traditional tactics of public relations with modern strategic communications practices. You deserve more than PR; we work with your team to develop compelling and authentic stories that can be told using various media platforms. For CultureCon for the past two years I’ve had the opportunity to escort 1-30 speakers and high profile talent to event and press commitments including assigned panels and other touch points to ensure the set program schedule is maintained. Clients include Tracee Ellis Ross, Sanaa Lathan, Regina King, Dave East, Quincy Brown, and more.

#CultureCon is a conference curated for creatives where you can receive tangible advice about your business or side-hustle, break off into working sessions, network, and collaborate. There are endless activations and pop-ups from small black-owned businesses. There were over 3,000 attendees last year.

I have been accepted to participate in McKinsey’s Black Leadership Management Accelerator Program McKinsey & Company! Designed for high-performing, early-to mid-career managers (non-executives, typically three to five levels below the C-suite) aspiring to take the challenging leap into senior leadership. This 6-month program focuses on building the core management and leadership capabilities as well as the cross-functional knowledge needed to lead successful businesses and teams.
